Kevin Conroy Would Love to Continue to Play Old Bruce Wayne Beyond CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS
After providing the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman for over 25 years, Kevin Conroy finally got to play a live-action version of the character in The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths. In the crossover event series, Conroy plays an older version of Bruce Wayne who wears a full-body exoskeleton suit. We got a look at him in the trailer that was released yesterday.
Conroy hopes that this isn’t the last time he will play the character. He would love to continue playing a live-action version of Bruce Wayne beyond Crisis on Infinite Earths. With the story opening up multipole Earths in the Arrowverse, it is possible to see more stories told featuring Conroy's Batman. When talking to CB about the possibility, he said:
"Wouldn’t that be awesome? That would be so awesome. I was thinking that as I was doing this, that I’m kind of inhabiting Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. He’s not that old — Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond is like 80. He’s not that old in this but he is as limited in his ability to be physical in this. He’s not fully able-bodied. In that sense he’s like Old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond. And I was using the voice, actually, from Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. I was thinking, it would be great to do that. I would love it.”
As a fan of Conroy, I would love to see him get to continue to play the character. While it might not be a Batman Beyond adaptation, I still think there is a great story to be told with this version of Bruce Wayne. We’ll just have to wait and see. But, if the fans end up loving what they see of him in Crisis on Infinite Earths, maybe the studios would consider doing something with him.
Would you like to see a live-action series centered around Conroy’s older version of Batman?
