Kevin Feige All But Confirmed Florence Pugh's Appearance as Yelena Belova in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY
We have known for a while now that the members of the New Avengers (formerly known as The Thunderbolts) were going to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but it looks like one member is going to be showing up even sooner.
While attending the Shanghai Expo this past week, Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased the return of the MCU’s current Black Widow.
Avengers Updates reports that Feige revealed, “If you’re a fan of Yelena, wait until Avengers: Doomsday, Yelena plays a big part in that. But if you don’t want to wait until then, you might see Yelena a little bit sooner in the movies.”
This was a thinly veiled secret, seeing as how Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the only Marvel movie between now and December when Doomsday comes out. So it looks like Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, will be seen in Brand New Day in some capacity.
He could be teasing her role in the actual film, or possibly a post-credits scene that will set us up for Doomsday. Either way, I’m so excited for both of these films and seeing Pugh’s Black Widow return to the screen.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theatres on July 31st, and Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18th.
