Kevin Feige Already Revealed That SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is Set After The Events of AVENGERS: ENDGAME

A lot of fans have been wondering when exactly Spider-Man: Far From Home is set in the time. The trailers that have been released don’t really answer that, but you know who did answer that question? Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige.

A couple of years ago Feige explained that the film would be set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and that it would deal with how Peter Parker would be coping with those events.

Marvel Studios was planning for Spider-Man to lead them into their next incarnation of the MCU. At the time, Feige said:

"So much happens in [the 3rd and 4th Avengers movies], as you can imagine, and so much is affected by it that we felt what better person to hold your hand and lead you into the next incarnation of the MCU, in a grounded, realistic manner, than Peter Parker? So, coming out two months after Untitled Avengers, [that’s what] much of what the next Spider-Man film will be about.”

He went on to explain that the events of Endgame are going to affect him, and that’s something they wanted to explore in this next movie.

“It was purposefully done like this. Like how the events of Captain America: Civil War impacted Peter as he was dropped off by Tony and expected to go back to continue his sophomore year, how the hell are the events of Infinity War and Untitled [Avengers] going to affect him as he, yes, goes back to his junior year?”

It makes sense that trailer for Far From Home doesn’t really touch on anything from Avengers: Infinity War or Endgame. Why would it!? They don’t want to spoil anything regarding the events of Endgame! They aren’t going to show that hand in the trailer for the new Spider-Man movie! One hint in the trailer that they give us is that Peter Parker wants to go on vacation and not worry about saving the day, like he needs a real break.

Feige then pointed out that they “know the specifics and the time line” and they were going to build the film on the big plot points that they previously devised for the story.

In another previous interview, Feige also revealed that Far From Home would pick up minutes after the end of Endgame.

"What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie, and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story."

So, unless Kevin Feige was just messing around with the fans a couple of years ago, which I doubt, then Spider-Man: Far From Home is set after Avengers: Endgame.

We’ll know a lot more about how all this plays out after Endgame is released in theaters. The movie could actually start minutes after the events of Endgame. My question is… will it be set in an alternate universe or the same universe that we’ve come to know over the past ten years?
