Kevin Feige Confirms That a Certain Marvel Character Exists in The MCU
Warning. There are possible Spoilers for the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. If you want to know nothing and are a comic fan, you have been warned.
It has recently been revealed that Donald Glover's character in the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie is Aaron Davis. For those who don't know who that is, let's have a little history lesson. Aaron Davis was a professional thief who eventually became a character in the Marvel Universe known as the Prowler. The Prowler has had some prominence being an ally as well as a villain to Peter Parker. He has recently become even more well known with a certain connection he has to a new character in the Marvel Comics. Miles Morales.
Aaron Davis is Miles Morales Uncle in the comics and in case you were wondering, Aaron Davis makes direct mention of his "nephew", in the new film. While no actor has been announced or anything else, it is now official that Miles Morales EXISTS in the MCU. Kevin Feige had this to say about it while talking to Screen Crush:
"All of those little things are just Easter eggs for fans until they're something more than that. But anything that's happened in the books is potential material for us. In the meantime, I think Miles is a big part of the animated movie that Sony's making. But where we go... we definitely want you to go "He's there. He's there somewhere."
So basically he's saying yes- Miles Morales exists in the MCU, but for now, he's nothing more than part of the built world. He may be introduced as a full-fledged character later, but it's still just cool to know, he exists in the MCU.
