Kevin Feige Confirms DEADPOOL 3 Will Be an R-Rated MCU Film
Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige has offered an update on Deadpool 3. A lot of fans have been wondering what exactly the status of this film is, and you’ll be happy to learn that the script is currently being written by Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux (Bob’s Burgers) with Ryan Reynolds overseeing the scriptwriting process.
He also confirms that the film will be set in the MCU and that it will be rated R. Here’s what Feige told Collider in a recent interview when asked about it:
“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”
This is exciting news! I don’t think fans expected Deadpool 3 to happen anytime soon, but the fact that the project is officially in development is a good sign that we might see it within the next few years.
If you recall, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld said that Marvel Studios had “zero” plans for making Deadpool 3. He was obviously wrong. They do have a plan, and they are in the process of developing it. I personally can’t wait to see how exactly they fit Deadpool into the MCU; there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a hilariously wild and crazy ride.
