Kevin Feige Confirms LOKI Plays in the Multiverse and Teases Multiple Version's of Loki
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige recently talked about the upcoming Disney+ series Loki in a recent interview with EW, and confirmed that the series will explore the multiverse as it will deal with time and reality. He also teased that we will see multiple versions of Loki in the story.
There have been rumors and speculation that we might see various iterations of Loki in the show, and it looks like that might actually be the case. Feige explains:
“He’s been around for thousands of years. He had all sorts of adventures. Wanting to fill in the blanks and see much more of Loki’s story [was] the initial desire [for the series]. Part of the fun of the multiverse and playing with time is seeing other versions of characters. And other versions of the titular character in particular.”
So, that bit of information is sure to get some fans excited! In the story, Loki is recruited by the Time Variance Authority, led by Owen Wilson, to help fix the mess he made by putting the timeline in chaos.
Picking up immediately after Loki steals the Tesseract (again), he finds himself called before the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space, forced to answer for his crimes against the timeline and given a choice: face deletion from reality or assist in catching an even greater threat.
The show stars Tom HIddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard E. Grant, and Sophia Di Martino. The series was directed by Kate Herron, and Michael Waldron is the head writer.
Loki hits Disney+ on June 9th.
