Kevin Feige Discusses the Future of the Multiverse in the MCU
If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Far From Home yet, this article discusses a major revelation about the multiverse in the MCU.
If you have seen Far From Home, you know that major revelation is the fact that the multiverse teased in the trailer for the film doesn’t exist! The whole thing was a lie! Mysterio was a fraud!
I would have actually loved to see Marvel introduce the multiverse in the MCU, and it sounds like it will be introduced but in a way that we aren’t expecting. While talking to io9, Kevin Feige discussed the multiverse in the MCU and said they will play with it “in our own way.”
When asked of the MCU could be linked to Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Feige said, “Well, I don’t know, most of that’s up to Sony.” He then went on to say:
“I mean I think the notion of the multiverse is fun. We first made reference to the multiverse in Doctor Strange. I think it’s something we’ll be playing with in our own way. Obviously, we mentioned it in Far From Home but [Mysterio’s] not telling the truth but I think that’s a fun storytelling opportunity for us just the way they’ve done for years in the comics.”
So, even though the multiverse turned out to be a lie in Far From Home, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist and that Marvel won’t introduce it and play with it at some point down the line… in their “own way.”
What does that mean… “In our own way”? I imagine that traveling through time and space through the quantum realm with the Infinity Stones, and all of the snapping of the Infinity Gauntlet, must have done something weird and crazy to the universe! Right?!
