Kevin Feige Explains That The MCU is Tied Together By Easter Eggs

As we know by now, Cameos and Easter Eggs are a huge part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but according to Marvel producer Kevin Feige, all those hidden things in the movies are a lot more than just nods to fans. He says the Easter Eggs are there to tie all the movies together.

During an interview at the L.A. red carpet premiere of Thor: Ragnarok, Feige said the movies are for both fans who plan to only see the film the one time in theaters, and for those who will watch the movies again and again.

"We make these movies for people to enjoy once on opening weekend if that's what they want to do, but really, because we're more like the people who watch it over and over again, we make it for them," Feige said.

Feige also said that the Easter Eggs tie all of the films together for fans who are paying attention.

"We put things in, you can call them Easter Eggs, you can call them hidden items. They're lots in there. It's not just within each movie, it's connective tissue between all the movies so there are things coming up, there are things in this movie that tie back to ten movies ago that you will only get if you've been tracking them very closely."

And fans definitely do track them closely, even the ones that don't appear to directly tie back to other Marvel Cinematic Movie films.

With Thor: Ragnarok setting up for Avengers: Infinity War, fans will surely be paying more attention to what clues might be hidden in the movie, both to connect to previous MCU installments and to the future for the universe as well.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters November 3, 2017.
