Kevin Feige Hopes To Bring The Collector and The Grandmaster Together in a Film One Day
Earlier this year, Jeff Goldblum revealed that The Grandmaster, who he plays in Thor: Ragnarok, and Benicio Del Toro's The Collector are brothers in the MCU. We got a cool little tease of them together playing some form of space chess in a painting on display at Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! ride. Well, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hopes to bring the characters together in a future Marvel film.
During an interview with Fandango, Feige teased the possibility of seeing the two brothers meeting up down the line. When asked about it, he said:
"It would be awesome man. It would be great. We love the idea that they’re brothers. If you go on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction at California Adventure in Anaheim, you will see a picture on Collector’s wall of he and the Grandmaster playing some sort of a space chess game, which right now is the only place you can see the two of them in a frame together, but let’s hope that changes someday."
I guess we should keep our fingers crossed! I'd love to see these two characters meet up! They are both so fun to watch and I love the oddballness of the characters. Seeing the two actually interact with each other could make for some amazingly fun scenes!
It's possible that the two could show up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. You know what would be funny? A post-credits scene where they bring to life the scene portrayed in the art above.
