Kevin Feige Likes The Idea of Marvel Studios Having Its Own Comic-Con
Disney has a monopoly with some of the biggest properties, some even having their own conventions, Star Wars Celebration for example. With the growing success of them, it's fair to wonder if Marvel Studios will ever do something similar. After the fourth Avengers movie hits theaters, it will bring the MCU tally to 22 Marvel Studios movies since 2008's Iron Man and there is still more to come. So is it safe to say the time has come for Marvel to have a Marvel-Con?
Fandango interviewed Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about Thor: Ragnarok they asked him if Marvel is considering staging their own massive fan event specifically for Marvel Studios movies.
"Over the years there have been discussions about that. I think what we try to do occasionally in San Diego we're very proud of and think is a fun tradition. That being said, I think [Star Wars] Celebration is pretty amazing. I've been to a few Celebrations and the idea of doing something like that ... I think we have enough content, and enough fans, and enough ideas that we could easily do something like that, I'm just not sure where or when."
It would be pretty hard on fans if Marvel departed SDCC's Hall H, but it would be pretty awesome if we got an entire convention for the MCU. What do you guys think? Would you be opposed to a Marvel Celebration, or do you want Marvel to stay at Comic Con?
