Kevin Feige Says “A Heck of a Lot” of Heroes Will Visit the Baxter Building in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige just teased some intriguing multiversal mayhem heading our way in Avengers: Doomsday, and it involves a packed house at the iconic Baxter Building.
Feige dropped the detail during an interview with Marvel.com, revealing how the Fantastic Four’s headquarters will serve as a key location in the next Avengers installment. Feige said:
“The fun of an Avengers movie is introducing people to each other and seeing how very different personalities get along. In the case of a movie that involves the threat of worlds literally colliding, it’s fun to see them visit each other’s homes.
“So with the Baxter Building set, let’s say it had four or five people in it at most in the Fantastic Four movie. And it’s got a heck of a lot more people in it [in Doomsday].”
The crossover tease sounds epic, but it also raises a major timeline headache. Here’s why. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set on Earth-828. Meanwhile, the mainline Avengers hail from Earth-616.
Yet we saw the Fantastic Four’s ship travel to Earth-616 in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene. So how are all these Avengers ending up in the Baxter Building, which is presumably still on 828? I guess they’ll be traveling back with them?
It’s clear Doomsday will dive deep into multiversal chaos, and it's bringing a huge roster with it. Alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Fantastic Four, we’ll see Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Anthony Mackie's Captain America, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, Letitia Wright's Black Panther, The X-Men, and The New Avengers crew all thrown into the mix. The, of course, there’s Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
It will be interesting to see how many of these characters end up going to to Earth 828.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
