Kevin Feige Says Marvel Studios Could Start Developing Fox Properties Within Six Months
It’s looking like the Disney and Fox deal is finally going to close next month, and when it does, Marvel Studios will have the rights back to several X-Men and Fantastic Four characters.
The question on everyone’s mind has been, when will Marvel actually start developing films based on those properties? Well, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that they could start development on these properties within the next six months!
While speaking on Variety's Playback podcast, Feige was asked if he has received the go-ahead to start developing stories based on Fox-owned Marvel properties, and this was his response:
"No, but we've been told it's looking very, very good and could happen in the first six months of next year."
He went on to say:
“The notion of the characters coming back is great. It’s nice when a company that created all these characters can have access to all those characters. It’s unusual not to. But in terms of actually thinking about it and actually planning things, we haven’t started that yet.”
So, if are one of the many fans hoping to see any teases of these characters in Avengers: Endgame, don’t hold your breath. But it’s cool to hear that the studio is going to start developing some of these properties soon! If this is the case then we could see some of these character enter the MCU as soon as 2020.
What characters from these properties would you like to see Marvel play with first?
