Kevin Feige Says Michelle Pfeiffer Gives and "Iconic and Amazing" Performance in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
I was so excited when I first heard that Michelle Pfeifer was going to play Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and The Wasp. I've been a fan of Pfeifer for a long time... ever since she played Catwoman in Batman Returns! She was so great in that movie and it's so cool that she's now going to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During an interview with Vulture, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explains what it is like to have the actress as a part of the MCU crew, and says that her performance in the film is iconic and amazing:
“I don’t want to say too much, but I will say that’s she’s every bit as iconic and amazing in this part as you would imagine. People ask sometimes about movie stars and star power and who’s the most exciting person to be around, and the truth is that once you get to know them as people, they don’t feel like movie stars — everybody is just a super-impressive human. But in a room full of movie stars, Michelle Pfeiffer rises to the top. You can tell how big Michelle is because all the other movie stars are going, ‘Is that Michelle Pfeiffer over there?’”
Ant-Man and The Wasp looks like it's going to be a blast! The first trailer was released a couple of weeks ago and the fans flipped for it. We still haven't seen footage of Pfeiffer in the role of Janet van Dyne, but I'm sure that will come soon enough.
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: Ant-Man and The Wasp. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
The movie stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, T.I. as Dave, Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, the wife of Hank Pym, and Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to open in theaters on July 6, 2018.
