Kevin Feige Says "Never Say Never" To an AVENGERS and X-MEN Crossover Film

As of right now, it's really hard to imagine Marvel Studios and Fox teaming up to give us an Avengers and X-Men crossover film. One thing is certain though. If it ever happens, it's not going to happen anytime soon. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has no plans of bringing any of these X-Men characters into the MCU, because as of right now he can't. But, that doesn't mean he doesn't want to bring these characters back into the fold!

During a recent interview with Perception, Feige talked about the possibility of other characters that aren't currently a part of the MCU finding their way back to Marvel Studios in the future and proceeded to use a crossover between The Avengers and X-Men as a prime example. When asked about it, he said:

“Yes, of course! My goal is to replicate the experience that comic book fans have reading the books up on the screen and we’ve been able to accomplish that beyond my wildest dreams over the last ten years. And certainly, including Spidey in Civil War, in the upcoming Infinity War, is yet another dream that I didn’t even dare to talk about publicly because I thought the odds of it were very slim. So, no plans beyond that for the few remaining characters that aren’t already in the MCU but never say never. Who knows what can happen in the future?”

It would be so cool to see Marvel get all of their characters back one day and be able to play with them in this wonderful cinematic universe they've built. Even though he can't do that right now, it's good to see that he remains optimistic and hopeful that one day it could happen, and when it does, he'll be ready!

I'd love to see Marvel Studios get the rights back to most of their characters. However, I think Deadpool and the other X-Force characters should remain at Fox because Marvel and Disney would never allow the hardcore R-rated awesomeness that they require.

I think Fox should just give back the rights of Fantastic Four to Marvel though, because I have no doubt that they would finally give those characters the amazing film they deserve! As for The X-Men, I don't see why they just can't share the characters like Marvel is sharing Spider-Man with Sony Pictures. Everyone would benefit from it!

What do you think about all this? What would you like to see happen?

We were honored to have this exclusive Perception Channel interview with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Listen to his conversation with Perception co-founder Jeremy Lasky as he talks about his childhood, his first job, the science and technology within the films and the legacy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
