Kevin Feige Says That BLACK PANTHER is the Best Marvel Movie Ever Made, Do You Agree?
Black Panther is a freakin' great film. I loved how it turned out. It told a great complex story with dramatic layers and it was also a blast. But... is it the best Marvel movie ever made? Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige says it is! During an interview with ABC, that you can watch below, Feige said:
"The movie finished, and I looked over at Ryan [Coogler], I said, 'that's the best movie we've ever made.'"
That's quite a bold statement from Kevin Feige, but... I have to respectfully disagree. Everyone is going to have their own opinion on this matter because everyone has different tastes. There's really no right or wrong answer to this.
After watching Black Panther I went back and watched The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and those films are still so amazing. Those along with Iron Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy films I think are better Marvel films than Black Panther. That's just my opinion, though.
Feige goes on to admit that it's more than just the film's box office success that makes it great. It's the story the movie tells and what it represents that makes it great.
"Clearly you have anticipation from an audience that has never seen themselves portrayed like this before... What Stan Lee and Jack Kirby did fifty years ago was pretty bold in the mid-60s to say here is a character from Africa from this African nation who's smarter than you, who's richer than you, who's more technologically advanced than you and we wanted to stay true to that."
They definitely did an incredible job pulling it off. Feige and Coogler started working on this movie four years ago and he says that world changed a lot in that time and that the story it tells is more relevant now than when they started:
"Circumstances in the world have changed drastically since we started working on this movie four years ago. It was relevant then. I think it's more relevant now."
You definitely can't argue with that because it's true.
