Kevin Feige Says That The Next Four Marvel Movies Will Be Very Different and Unique
Remember the first time we saw Guardians of the Galaxy and how fantastically different it was than the rest of the Marvel films that we had seen? Well, that's how I felt with Thor: Ragnarok. It was so different and unique than anything else we've seen in the MCU including Guardians of the Galaxy, and I love that about it.
That uniqueness is going to carry on through the next three films that follow Ragnarok. During an interview with CB on the Red Carpet of the Thor: Ragnarok premiere, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said:
“All of the next films by design have been built to be very different, to be very unique. Ragnarok, Black Panther, certainly as we get into Infinity War and even Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is nearing the end of their production period right now. All four of those movies are distinct and special and I can’t wait for people to see. Thankfully they get to see Ragnarok starting now.”
This is so good to hear! As much as I have enjoyed the Marvel films, they really have fallen into the same familiar and formulaic style that fans expect to see. But they are looking to break free from this formula style of filmmaking and try new and different things. Thor: Ragnarok is a perfect example of doing something completely new and bold.
We can also see the differences in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War and I can't wait to see how those films full play out. I'm excited to see more from Ant-Man and The Wasp and beyond! It's been a lot of fun seeing the Marvel films evolve over the years and they are going to be making big steps in that evolution as they continue to move forward with their future films.
