Kevin Feige Talks About Exploring Spider-Man Villains We Haven't Seen Before

Spider-Man: Homecoming is going to open up a whole new Spider-Man universe and the first main villain to be introduced in it is The Vulture. As the franchise continues to roll forward, we are going to see Spider-Man take on new villains.

It's going to be really interesting to see what villains that Spider-Man does go up against in the future because Sony Pictures is launching their own cinematic universe. The universe will include villains that won't be part of the MCU. So what villains does that leave Marvel to play with?

We don't know, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talks about how they are looking to explore and play with villains that we haven't seen yet. In an interview with HeyUGuys he says:

“What’s fun about this is it’s the first time Spider-Man is in the MCU. And the first time he’s played by an actor who is the age, essentially, Spidey was in the comics for so long. And, as Michael Keaton does with the Vulture, we get to explore villains we haven’t seen before. Spidey has an amazing rogues gallery, so at some point I think it might be interesting to revisit some of the characters we’ve seen in films before, but right now, we think there are a lot of new ones we haven’t played with yet.”

I like that they want to bring in other villains! That would definitely make the Spider-Man films a bit more interesting. I'm curious to know what villains they might be thinking of using and if the right of those villains reside with Marvel or Sony.

Feige was then asked in the interview about Captain Britain and if that movie would ever happen. Turns out, there have been discussions! All he said in regards to that was:

"We have discussed it. There are a lot of actors that come in and ask about that part, so we’ll have to see."

It seems like a character that they'll eventually end up bringing into the MCU at some point, but it probably won't be for awhile.

What are some villains that you'd like to see Spider-Man take on? Excluding Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Kraven, and Mysterio because Sony is already planning movies for them.

Stefan Pape from HeyUGuys interviews former Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal & Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for all things Spider-Man Homecoming. During the interview they discuss how the collaboration came into place, working with Tom Holland, how they see Marvel and Sony continuing going forward and which other Marvel characters we may see in the future and how Captain Britain may appear further down the line.
