Kevin Feige Teases His STAR WARS Movie Will Explore New People and Places in That Universe

A lot of Star Wars and Marvel fans are curious to know what exactly Kevin Feige is planning on doing with the Star Wars film he’s developing with Lucasfilm. There’s really nothing known about the project, but during a recent interview with the Awards Chatter podcast for The Hollywood Reporter, he teased that his story will explore new people and places in that universe:

“I love that world and I love the notion of exploring new people and new places in that universe. But that’s sort of all that can be said for now.”

According to a previous report, a knowledgeable source also said that “Feige has told a major actor that there’s a specific role he would like that person to play if and when he makes the movie.” We just know nothing about who that actor is or the character that he wants that actor to play.

One thing we know for sure is that Feige’s story will not be connected to the Skywalker saga or any of the other projects that are currently in development like Rian Johnson’s trilogy. Feige goes on to explain that he’s really not worried about the audience feeling Star Wars fatigue by the time his film comes out, saying:

“Well they’ve made about five movies in about five years and it’s made over five billion dollars, so I think they’re doing just fine with Star Wars. And Rise of Skywalker looks incredible to me.”

So, like many of us, Feige is also excited about the future of the Star Wars franchise. Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn previously talked about the future of Star Wars, saying:

“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

We’ve got awhile before we see any new Star Wars films in theaters, but at this point, most fans seem to be more excited for Feige’s project than Johnson’s.
