Kevin Feige Was Pretty Upset About the Leaks, But Pretty Pleased With the Fan Response

It’s been a very careful dance for the Marvel Studio executives and directors as they’ve released the last handful of films in the MCU to make the experience for fans as streamlined as they can, and play out the final leg of this phase just the way they want it experienced.

They have had a very specific order to the release of the movies, trailers, and pieces of information that has been laid out for us like the perfect puzzle. So of course when the spoiler-filled clip from Avengers: Endgame was released online last week, the people in charge lost their minds.

It would be a devastating blow to the fans to have this movie, of all movies, spoiled for them just by happening upon a scene, or a description of a scene from Endgame, and have their experience sullied.

So of course Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was pretty dang upset about the leak, but he was also very pleased with the reaction of the fans. Here’s what he had to say about the ordeal:

I wasn’t pleased. It’s not cool. It’s not fun. But the response was what I expected, which was everybody turning it off, dismissing it, ‘Don’t watch it, don’t spoil it for anybody else.’

Of course we reacted that way! You don’t see every movie on opening night just to make it this far and read about what happened from some douche on the internet instead of watching the movie! We are avoiding that crap at all cost! I know I am being very careful the next 36 hours so that I can go into the movie knowing nothing and get the full experience for myself. And I won’t be the jerk that spoils it for anyone else either! Have you pledged to stay spoiler free? Tell us in the comments how many hours until you see Avengers: Endgame! The countdown is on!
