Kevin Hart Developing Adult Animated Hip-Hop Comedy STORYTOWN for HBO Max
Kevin Hart is producing an adult-themed music-infused animated comedy for HBO Max titled Storytown. Hart is developing the project with producer Michael D. Ratner of OBB Pictures.
In the series, “when a grandson starts causing trouble in the streets, his grandfather begins to share life lessons he learned growing up with rapping fairytale characters in a place called Storytown.”
Songwriter and musical theater composer Khiyon Hursey (Hamilton) is working on the series with Harrison Richlin (Soundtrack). They will serve as composers on Storytown, which they are also co-writing with Woke executive producer Jay Dyer.
The creative team is currently putting together an animatic presentation as part of the development process. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this. It sounds like a fun and great concept to play with.
