Kevin Hart To Join Hasbro's Live-Action MONOPOLY Movie
Kevin Hart is seeing a lot of success these days. He’s just a fun an enjoyable actor to watch. I especially enjoyed him in his recent film The Upside.
Well, the actor/comedian is now in talks to join another big film project. Lionsgate and Hasbro want him for their live-action adaptation of Monopoly. Variety is also reporting that Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) is in negotiations to direct.
Lionsgate and Hasbro have been trying to get this film production off the ground since 2015. The most recent script they have was written by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, The Truman Show) and it is “about a boy from the game’s Baltic Avenue embarking on a quest to make a fortune.”
There are no details on who Hart will play in the film, but maybe he’ll be playing a version of the games mascot, Rich Uncle Pennybags. Who knows, though, we’ll just wait and see how this film comes together.
I’m personally not a big Monopoly fan, but I am curious to see how they end up making a movie out of the game.
