Kevin Smith Drops a Red-Band Trailer for JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT
Kevin Smith has released the first trailer for his upcoming film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and if you’re a fan of Smith’s work, you’re probably going to love it! It looks like a lot of vulgar and silly fun with Smith poking a lot of fun at today’s pop culture! You’ll also get your first look at some cool cameos which include Matt Damon and even Ben Affleck, with whom Smith had a falling out years ago. Well, it looks like they patched things up and are willing to work together again!
This trailer is definitely NSFW, as it’s filled with all kind of crazy red-band goodies! Smith also makes some jokes at his own expense. It’s also revealed that Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist is the new rebooted version of Chronic in the film.
When sharing what the new movie is about, Smith previously said:
If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot also stars Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Craig Robinson (The Office), Frankie Shaw (SMILF), Justin Long (Tusk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Jordan Monsanto, who is a producer of several of Smith’s film projects. Method Man and Redman. Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Biggs, Rosario Dawson, and Molly Shannon will also be in the film. Then there are Flash stars Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes,
We’ll learn more about the film and probably see some additional clips during Smith’s panel on Saturday. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will be in theaters on October 15th and 17th, as part of a limited run Fathom Events.
