Kevin Smith Shares His Thoughts on JUSTICE LEAGUE and Says There Are "Moments That F*** Made my Heart Soar."

As many of you know Kevin Smith is a huge DC fanboy who has had both kind and negative things to say about the DC films that have been made. For those of you who are interested in what he thought about Justice League, he shared his thoughts on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast with Ralph Garman

Smith reveals that he's seen the film twice already and that there are moments in it that made his heart soar. He obviously liked it:

"I saw Justice League twice already. I liked it. I liked it. There's stuff in it that I really dug, stuff that I was happy, I mean it's weird this is like, I'm not going to review the movie and stuff, but these are moments that fucking made my heart soar."

He went on to talk about one of those moments in detail, so spoilers ahead:

He went on to talk about the flashback sequence featuring the epic war against Steppenwolf:

"So, they're telling the story of the last time that Steppenwolf invaded the Earth with parademons and like the Atlanteans and the Amazonians and the armies of men had to bond together to stop Steppenwolf and fight the powers of Apokolips. As the story's being told, Diana, Wonder Woman is telling the story to Bruce Wayne, so as she's telling this story. She said even aliens from other planets came to fight.
"And so, they showed an alien you've never seen before, but he had a green energy and a Lantern ring. So, the idea was like fucking lanterns even back in the first age like were defenders of the galaxy and they came to earth to help. So, there is this one moment in this battle, this throwaway moment, where a fucking lantern is killed and he fucking hits the ground and all of a sudden, the ring shoots off his finger and takes off into space. Oh my god shit like that, seeing that on the big screen after reading that in comics for so long and watching Ryan Reynolds do it once was really wonderful. So, there's moments like that that really did it for me."

I really did enjoy that scene. It felt like this crazy epic Lord of the Rings battle but in the DC universe. I kinda wish there would've been more of that.

I watched Justice League again yesterday and I actually enjoyed it even more the second time around. I wasn't thinking about the stuff that I wanted to say in the review I was going to for the film, so I was able to just relax and enjoy the movie.
