Kevin Smith Starts a Video Production Journal as He Starts Shooting JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT
Kevin Smith recently announced with a photo from the set that production has started on his Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. And it looks like he’ll be giving his fans more than just photos as he continues his production journey on this film.
He will be releasing a series of video production journals that will offer us some insight on the making of the film and give us a behind-the-scenes in-depth look at the development of the movie. This is actually pretty cool! I love when filmmakers do this kind of stuff!
Smith released the first of these videos recently called “The Road to Reboot: Chapter 1”, and it focuses on tech scouting, which involves going to every location for shooting the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. This is something that Smith says he used to hate doing, but now he actually enjoys it. Check it out!
Saban Films picked up the North American distribution rights to the film, which will follow Jay and Silent Bob on a new adventure, one that can't necessarily be classified as a traditional reboot. Smith previously explained:
"If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time."
The movie will also star Flash actors Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes. The movie is expected to be released this fall.
