Kevin Smith Starts Pre-Production Work on JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT
If you’re a fan of Kevin Smith and his Jay and Silent Bob characters. You’ll be happy to hear that the filmmaker has started work on his new film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
He’s been talking about this film for awhile, and now, the project is finally making forward progress, other than the script being completed and a few casting announcements. To mark the occasion, Smith posted the following photo from a We Work office space:
Spent the first day of 2019 having a #JayAndSilentBobReboot pre-pre-production meeting at our holiday-roomy @WeWork office! @JayMewes took this pic of me and @JordanMonsanto to both mark the moment and to document that we were the only dopes in Hollywood working on the holiday. pic.twitter.com/xTNrpN6OF6

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will follow the two crazy characters on a new adventure, one that can't necessarily be classified as a traditional reboot. Smith previously explained:
"If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time."
The movie will star Smith and Jason Mewes reprising their roles along with Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes, who have all worked with Smith on The Flash series.
This new film actually has an amusingly fun, interesting concept, and I’m curious to see how the story is going to play out.
