Kevin Smith Teams Up With GARBAGE PAIL KIDS For View Askew-Themed Cards
Filmmaker Kevin Smith is going into business with Garbage Pail Kids! Together they are launching a line of Garbage Pail Kids cards that are based on characters from his View Askewniverse, which is the interconnected world featured in Smith's movies like Clerks, Malrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma.
View Askew is the name of Smith's production company. If you’re a fan of Smith’s films and Garbage Pail Kids cards, you’re gonna love these! Some of the cards include "Apprehended Alyssa” based on the character from Chasing Amy trapped in a giant "finger trap" puzzle. There’s also "Rental Randal" with a copy of Happy Scrappy Hero Pup on VHS. There’s Silent Bobby, Snoochie Boo-Jay, Chee Lee, and more!
The cards are currently available on the Topps website and retail for $50. The checklist has 40 cards, which translates into 20 different characters each with the customary A/B name variations. All of them have roots in Smith’s films and the art is by GPK vets Brent Engstrom and David Gross.
