Kiefer Sutherland Remembers His Father, Donald Sutherland, as "One of the Most Important Actors in the History of Film"

Kiefer Sutherland has given a public statement in the wake of the passing of his father, beloved actor Donald Sutherland. Kiefer, who followed in his actor father’s footsteps, posted a tribute to social media, stating:

“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”

Donald Sutherland starred in such classic films as The Dirty Dozen, MASH, Klute, Animal House, Ordinary People and The Hunger Games franchise, among many others. He died at 88 in Miami after a long illness.
