KILLING EVE Spinoff Following Spymaster Carolyn Martens in the Works at BBC & AMC
It has been announced that the creators of Killing Eve are moving forward with a spinoff prequel series that will follow the early life and career of series spymaster Carolyn Martens. Producer Sid Gentle Films is in early stage development on the spin-off, though it hasn’t got a greenlight yet.
Carolyn, played by Fiona Shaw in the series, began the original show as the ruthless and enigmatic head of MI6’s Russia desk and plays a major role in all four seasons of the cat-and-mouse drama. The spin-off will focus on her early life in the British Secret Service.
This is a crazy character, and a show about her would definitely be exciting. I am sad to see Killing Eve go, but I will tune in to watch this show for sure. It’s unclear if Shaw will be back to play herself, or if they will go for a younger actress. I’m not sure how far back the timeline is, but either way, I trust these creators to make a solid series.
