KINGDOM HEARTS III Seems Unlikely to Come to Nintendo Switch

I am a big fan of Kingdom Hearts, but I haven’t been able to play Kingdom Hearts III yet since it’s not available on PC or Switch. That’s why I was getting really excited at the prospect of the game being launched on Switch after it made its way to PS4 and Xbox One. Tetsuya Nomura has even teased the possibility before. Unfortunately, Imran Khan, the Senior Editor for Game Informer, says that he’s heard that fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a Switch release. Talking to Kinda Funny Games, Khan said:

Last I heard, there was a talk between Nintendo and Square Enix about what they could do with Kingdom Hearts III. It was deemed unfeasible to get Kingdom Hearts III on the Switch. Even though it’s an Unreal Engine [4] game, it’s a very demanding Unreal Engine [4] game. Not something you can necessarily put without pairing it down a lot.

Khan does go on to say that he thinks the remasters of Kingdom Hearts I and II are likely to show up on the Switch at some point though. I would hope that Kingdom Hearts II.8 makes its way to the Switch, too. Now, Khan has a pretty good track record, but this is still nothing more than a rumor. Until an official announcement is made, I’ll be hoping that Switch owners get the chance to play Kingdom Hearts III. Do you want to see all of Kingdom Hearts brought to the Switch?
