KINGPIN Sequel in the Works From The Farrelly Brothers
A Kingpin sequel is officially in the works from Peter and Bobby Farrelly, and Village Roadshow Pictures. There’s no script yet as things are very early in development, but we know that the Farrellys are ready to make a sequel to their 1996 bowling comedy.
The original film starred Woody Harrelson as bowling prodigy Roy Munson, who is tricked into joining a con job that leaves him with a crippled hand for the rest of his life. Years later, a down-and-out Roy stumbles upon his ticket to fame and fortune when he discovers an Amish bowling phenom, Ishmael, played by Randy Quaid.
Bill Murray co-starred in the film as well as bowling legend Big Ern McCracken alongside Vanessa Angel, Chris Elliott, Rob Moran, and Lin Shaye (the old lady from that scene).
This movie is burned into my memory as a movie I got to see with my dad, uncle, and cousins on a trip to Colorado when I was almost 12. It’s so incredibly inappropriate, but it made us laugh until we cried, and I still love watching it.
Hopefully they can get the original stars back together for some more comedy gold. Are you excited for a Kingpin 2?
