Taron Egerton, who is best known for his role in the Kingsman franchise, is set to play Elton John in the upcoming biopic Rocketman. The movie is set up at Paramount Pictures with Matthew Vaughn producing, and Dexter Fletcher is set to direct it. He recently replaced Bryan Singer as the director of the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody

According to Variety, the movie has also been described as, "a biographical musical fantasy that will weave together John’s life and his music... it follows his life story from a child piano prodigy (who by age 11 won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music) to a young man who rebelled against his strict upbringing, wore outrageous costumes and became a global icon who teamed with songwriter Bernie Taupin to sell more records than just about any musical artist of his era."

Tom Hardy was originally set to star, but I think Egerton is a good actor. I especially liked him in the film Eddie the Eagle. It seems like he is a good fit for Elton John, but what do you think?
