Kit Harington Comments on Not Knowing the Status of Marvel's ETERNALS
Actor Kit Harington, best known as Jon Snow in the epic series Game of Thrones, has made the leap into the Marvel universe with his role of Dane Whitman in the upcoming movie, Eternals. With the recent pandemic, movies have done a big shift in release dates, first with Black Widow, which was supposed to get a May release, but has been moved to November. Then Eternals followed with a bump from November to February.
While we typically have an idea of what phase the Marvel films are in, this has been an unprecedented shake-up, and it’s been kind of unclear what everyone is up to. In a recent Q&A with fans, Harington let fans know that he is also in the dark about what’s going on with post-production, saying:
"Well [The Eternals] is done, that's filmed. It's just, God knows what happened...or what's going on with it, I have no idea. I don't know what's happening with anything right now."
So Harington is just waiting around until the studio says they might need him for ADR, additional photography, or the press and promo tour that is expected. Hopefully things will get back to normal sooner than later, and we will get to see the movies we have been looking forward to!
Black Widow is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2020; Eternals is set for February 12, 2021; Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2021; untitled Spider-Man sequel is scheduled to be released on November 5, 2021. Thor: Love and Thunder is set for February 11, 2022, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2022.
