Kit Harington Says He's "Not Gonna Pretend" He Took His ETERNALS Role Because It Was Interesting

Kit Harington got his big break as the character Jon Snow in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. That opportunity opened a lot of doors for the actor, who has been consistently getting roles ever since.

One of those coveted opportunities was to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which to most actors, is a ticket to more work and more exposure in Hollywood.

But unfortunately, the movie Harington was hired for ended up being one of the least favorite among fans, and it turns out that he also doesn’t have great things to say about it.

In the 2021 film Eternals, Harington played the character Dane Whitman in a short appearance that was setting him up to become Black Knight, a niche but beloved Marvel character connected to the seemingly doomed Blade film. Harington told GQ of the experience: “I'm not gonna pretend I took that [role] because it was different and interesting. If Marvel calls, you gotta do it,” he joked, although he liked his character and would be interested to return if they changed their mind.

I think it would have been cool to see Harington fully turn into the Black Knight, but it seems as though the Marvel trajectory has pivoted a couple of times since that movie was made.

Would you like to see him return to the role?
