Koei Tecmo Announces New Characters and Story Details for FAIRY TAIL

Koei Tecmo has officially announced two new characters for their upcoming JRPG game, Fairy Tail. Players will be able to play as Juvia Lockser, “The User of Water,” and Gajeel Redfox, “The Iron Dragon Slayer.” These two mages used to be members of Phantom Lord but join Fairy Tail partway through the anime. They join the previously announced roster of Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Lucy Heartfilia, Wendy Marvell, and Erza Scarlet.

In addition to the new characters, some more details about the story have been announced. The game’s story will focus on three fan-favorite arcs from the manga: Tenrou Island, Grand Magic Games, and Tartaros arcs. This means that the game’s story is about the demise of Fairy Tail after the main group of heroes disappear for a while and then reappear. Also, there will be original episodes to help characters bond and players will get to see unique scenes.

Fairy Tail will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC (via Steam), and PS4 in 2020.
