Konami Announces 3 New YU-GI-OH! Digital Titles
Konami just held their first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! Digital Next livestream and there are some really cool things shown off. I’m going to start with the smaller items and save the big bombs for last. If you play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, you’ll be happy to know that ARC-V is coming soon to the game. This means that Pendulum Monsters are almost there. There’s no exact release date, but it is coming soon.
Next, we’ve got Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel. This will be a new project for Android and iOS devices that will revolve around 4-player duels. Sadly, that’s the extent of our knowledge at this time. This could be a lot of fun though.
Third, we’ve got a huge announcement. Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel, based on the his anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens in Japan will be releasing in the west on Nintendo Switch. Coming this fall to the west (August for fans in Japan), fans will get to experience this new kind of dueling and even play with friends across the world. I’ve heard Rush Duels are going to be a lot of fun and I’m down for finally giving them a try. Maybe this also means that Sevens is leaving Japan soon?
Finally, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was given the spotlight. This digital title will be releasing eventually on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC (via Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S with 4K graphics on supported devices. Master Duel will not be based on an anime or manga, but rather centers on the real-world TCG. This is going to be an official, first-party simulator that fans have been asking for. Details are a little sparse, but Konami does plan on having official tournaments and events using this new game and it’s designed to not only be played, but also watched. I personally love the graphics we saw in the video showing a resolution of a chain. It is said to be “the most complete Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG digital title yet.” Hopefully, they actually update this one.
I am very happy with these announcements and cannot wait to try all of these out.
