Kristen Bell's Coupon Counterfeit Scam Movie QUEENPINS Picked Up by STX Films
STXfilms has picked up the rights to Kristen Bell’s latest film project Queenpins, which was inspired by the true story of the largest coupon counterfeit scam in U.S. history.
Queenpins tells the story of a suburban housewife “fed up with being dismissed and overlooked by her husband and society. She decides to take back control of her life by starting an illegal coupon club. Her creation ends up scamming millions of dollars from big food companies while delivering deals to millions of fellow coupon clippers.”
The project brings Bell back together with Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Good Place, Veronica Mars), as well as Vince Vaughn and Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai). The film will be directed by Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly from a script that they wrote.
Adam Fogelson, chairman of the STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said in a statement:
“We love everything about this comedy, especially reuniting with our friend Kristen Bell, who is paired perfectly with Kirby Howell-Baptiste — we know they’ve got great chemistry, and Kirby has shown she is a master of this kind of comedy in ‘Why Women Kill.’”
I enjoy the projects that Bell has been a part of, and this sounds like a great film for her! She tends to make fun comedies, and the story that this movie tells is a perfect fit for her.
