Kristen Wiig is in Talks to Play Cheetah in WONDER WOMAN 2
Earlier today we learned that the main villain in director Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman 2 would be Cheetah. Well, Deadline confirmed that news to be true and they are also saying that Kristen Wiig is in talks to play the character, which is completely unexpected!
I'm actually not sure how to feel about this. I'm a fan of Kristen Wigg and I think she's funny, but it's hard to imagine her in the role of a character like Cheetah. I personally liked the idea of Emma Stone playing the character, but that's not gonna happen because she passed on the role. Maybe Wigg would be a great choice! We'll just have to wait and see if she can pull off a badass character like this.
It was reported earlier that the version of the character they will use in Wonder Woman 2 will be Barbara Ann Minerva, "a British anthropologist who becomes the avatar of the cheetah god after locating the lost city of Urzkartagan and stumbling into the middle of an ancient ritual. The third of four characters to carry the mantle of Cheetah, Minerva first appeared in 1987 in Len Wein’s post-Crisis Wonder Woman, Vol. 2, #7 and, after a brief hiatus, reclaimed the title in 2011 when DC launched the New 52."
The story is set in the 80s during the Cold War said to follow Diana Prince as she reunites with Steve Trevor somehow to take on the Soviet Union.
