Krysten Ritter Teases Jessica Jones is Coming Back Just as Hard in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2

Krysten Ritter is officially stepping back into the boots of Jessica Jones, and her latest comments are exactly the kind of thing Daredevil fans want to hear.

With Daredevil: Born Again gearing up for its second season on Disney+, Ritter is pulling back the curtain just enough to confirm that the Jessica Jones people fell in love with hasn’t been sanded down or softened for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Ritter confirmed that Jessica Jones will return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and she made it clear the vibe should feel very familiar. The character is coming back with her edge intact.

Ritter explained, “It’s gritty. Like it feels big, too. The crew is amazing. I’ve had an amazing experience.” That gritty descriptor is key. Fans of the original Netflix series worried the move to Disney+ might clean things up, but Ritter’s words suggest the street-level DNA is still very much alive.

She also touched on reuniting with Charlie Cox, and it sounds like the chemistry picked up instantly. Ritter said, “I love being with Charlie… it was as if no time had passed.”

That sense of continuity goes beyond the performances. She described her first day back as Jessica as surreal in the best way, saying, “Looking around like we’re back.”

Ritter is currently juggling two New York-based productions at the same time, something she joked about while talking through her packed schedule.

“I’m like on the New York shows. Like all the crew is like, ‘Wait a minute, there’s two shows shooting in New York.’ I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m doing both.’”

She went on to say that switching between Jessica Jones and another character named Mia has been “really creatively fulfilling,” which speaks to how invested she still is in the role.

Marvel has already laid out what’s coming when Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on March 24. The eight-episode season centers on Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, now Mayor of New York, as he tightens his grip on the city and targets Daredevil as public enemy number one.

Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock doesn’t stand alone this time, and the trailer confirms Jessica Jones is part of the fight. Marvel is calling the series “the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most intense street-level drama,” and the cast backs that up.

Alongside Cox and D’Onofrio, the season features Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, and Matthew Lillard as a new character named Mr. Charles.

For fans wondering how deep Jessica Jones goes into the story, Ritter made it clear she isn’t just dropping by for a cameo. “There’s more story for her. And it’s really exciting,” she said. That’s about as reassuring as it gets.

Everything about Ritter’s comments points to a return that respects what worked before while pushing the story forward. If you loved the raw energy of the Netflix-era Marvel shows and the dynamic between Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is shaping up to deliver exactly that.
