Kumail Nanjiani Up For an Alien Role in New MEN IN BLACK Film
Comedian Kumail Nanjiani, who is best known for his work on Silicon Valley and The Big Sick, has reportedly been offered a role in Sony Picture's new Men in Black film. He would co-star alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as an alien character named Pawney.
According to That Hashtag Show, Pawny is "the third sidekick" and a “funny, wise-cracking, sex-driven alien from a civilization that exists on a Chessboard."
Hemsworth and Thompson will play Men in Black agents in the film and Liam Neeson is currently in talks to join the film as the "head of the U.K. branch of the galaxy defenders, in a role similar to the position filled by Rip Torn in the original trilogy."
F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious) is set to direct the film from a script written by Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.
Nanjiani is a hilarious comedian who has been a part of some great TV and film projects. Men in Black would be a very high-profile film for him and I think he'd be great in it.
The new Men in Black movie opens May 17, 2019.
