LA LA LAND Gets Three New Art Prints to Celebrate Its Blu-ray Release
As memories of the Oscars debacle fade and La La Land goes from being Moonlight's competition to just a movie again, I have a feeling the film will gain a whole new legion of fans. Damien Chazelle's throwback musical is a delightful movie that I don't think deserves the scorn it's received, and it's about to find a new audience as it arrives on Blu-ray today.
To mark the occasion, L.A.'s amazing Hero Complex Gallery has teamed up with artists Stan & Vince and Patrick Connan to debut three new art prints for the film, which all go on sale today at 10am Pacific Time. Check 'em out!
First up is Patrick Connan's "City of Stars," which you can see at the top of this post. Click on it to enlarge.
Size: 36"x24"
Medium: 8 Color Screen Print
Edition Size: 325
Price: $60
Then we have Stan & Vince's "Here's to the Fools Who Dream..." regular edition:
Size: 36"x24"
Medium: 10 Color Screen Print
Edition Size: 325
Price: $60
And here's a variant of that same print, with a different colored sky:
Size: 36"x24"
Medium: 10 Color Screen Print
Edition Size: 250
Price: $65
The Stan & Vince pieces do such a good job of capturing the movie's specific musical energy; you can practically hear "Another Day of Sun" emanating from the actual prints. Connan's, on the other hand, evokes Justin Hurwitz's swelling, Oscar-winning score, and perfectly represents the dreamscape version of Los Angeles the film portrays. All three are excellent, but I think Connan's is my personal favorite. What's yours?
If you'd like to purchase any of these, you can do that right here or at any of the individual links above when they go on sale at 10am Pacific Time today.
