LADY AND THE TRAMP Casts Ashley Jensen as The Scottish Terrier Jackie
It’s been a while since we heard anything about Disney’s remake of Lady and the Tramp, but they’ve finally cast their first actor.
Deadline reports that Ashley Jensen has been cast as the Scottish Terrier Jackie (Jock in the original film). Jackie is a loyal supporter of Lady. I’m surprised that a support character is the first to be cast, but I guess that’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
The story Follows "a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart."
Lady and the Tramp is being released in 2019 exclusively on Disney’s unnamed streaming service and it will be directed by Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago Movie, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack ).
