Disney's LADY AND THE TRAMP Film Casts Thomas Mann

We recently learned that Tessa Thompson will be providing the voice of Lady from Disney’s live-action Lady and the Tramp film. Now, we know who Lady’s owner will be. Variety is reporting that Thomas Mann (Me Earl and the Dying Girl) has been cast in the role of Lady’s owner, Jim Dear, who decides to get rid of her after the birth of his child.

The story Follows "a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart."

Lady and the Tramp is being directed by Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago MovieDexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack). It will debut on Disney’s streaming service that is set to launch in 2019. Thompson and Mann will be joined by a growing cast that also includes Justin Theroux and Ashley Jensen
