Disney Casts Yvette Nicole Brown in LADY AND THE TRAMP
The cast of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp adds Yvette Nicole Brown to the cast. She will play Aunt Sarah who, in the original, was watching over the baby of the Dear family, and the owner of the cats, Si and Am. Most probably know Brown from her role in Community, Mom, or DC Super Hero Girls.
The story Follows "a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart."
Brown joins the cast that already includes Tessa Thompson, Justin Theroux, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, and Ashley Jensen. Charlie Bean will direct the film for Disney’s streaming service which will launch in 2019.
Lady and the Tramp is being released in 2019 exclusively on Disney’s upcoming streaming service sometime next year and it will be directed by Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago Movie, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack). As you might imagine, most of the animal characters will be brought to life with CGI technology.
