LaKeith Stanfield and Tiffany Haddish in Talks To Star in Disney's New HAUNTED MANSION Movie
LaKeith Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah) and Tiffany Haddish (Night School) are in talks to star in the new Haunted Mansion movie being produced by Disney. Justin Siemen (Dear White People) is directing the movie with a script by Katie Dippold (The Heat, Spy, Ghostbusters). Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who produced the live-action hit Aladdin, are set to produce.
The popular Disney attraction was previously adapted in 2003 and the film starred Eddie Murphy. That movie was moderately successful and my kids loved it. Insiders say this new film will be a completely different take and it will be a film that stands on its own.
The story is said to “see theme park guests go inside a spooky and creepy manor that includes some classic characters like the spirit of psychic medium Madame Leota to the skeletal Bride to the cloaked Hatbox Ghost.”
I remember years ago when director Guillermo del Toro was developing a film based on The Haunted Mansion. Fans were incredibly excited to see his take on it, but unfortunately, that film never got made. I think he would have done some great and creepy things with it. I’m not really sure what to expect from Siemen, but I hope he ends up making a fun and eerie movie! There’s definitely a lot of cool stuff for him to play with!
