Larian Studios Explains BALDUR'S GATE III is in the Works for Xbox

The team at Larian Studios recently released a new trailer for Baldur’s Gate III along with the announcement that the game will be available at launch on PC and PS5. There were other announcements such as J.K. Simmons will be voicing General Ketheric Thorm, but I’m going to focus on that first part today. The addition of PS5 is very exciting, especially since the game will support split-screen multiplayer!

Sadly, those that play on Xbox consoles were left feeling a little down as the game has not been announced for the Series X|S consoles. Larian has taken to Reddit to address this very item. You can read their full post, but the short of it is that they’re working on it, but Xbox has proven to be a little harder to get working right.

They want to release it on Xbox and are working on it, but they won’t announce it for Xbox until they can get it working better, so it may just come a little later than PC and PS5.

I think it’s great that they’re addressing this and not leaving everyone in the dark and thinking that it will never come to Xbox. We Xbox gamers might just have to be a bit more patient. Baldur’s Gate III will launch on August 31 for PC and PS5 and is currently in Early Access on Steam. Hopefully Xbox will follow soon behind.
