Larry David Returning For Ninth Season of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM on HBO
Despite being an avid Seinfeld fan, I've somehow never found time to check out Larry David's HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has its own rabid fanbase and has become a legendary show in its own right. Just a few days ago, actor JB Smoove teased a possible return for the show (one that's been hinted at for a while now), and now it's been confirmed: David is coming back for a ninth season on HBO.
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of CURB and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said [Casey] Bloys.
Asked why he decided to come back, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
I wonder if this timing has anything to do with Bloys, who was previously in charge of HBO comedies, becoming the new head of programming at the network. In any case, fans can rejoice at the idea of more episodes being produced, and while a release date hasn't been announced yet, now seems like a good time for me (and anyone else who hasn't yet seen the show) to try to catch up.
