Lash Announced as Villain for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3
For those who have read the recent Inhuman comic by Charles Soule, you have been introduced to a new villainous Inhuman named Lash. He is a rebel Inhuman who believes that the Inhumans are being led by inferiority. Some backstory may help.
The comic series starts with Black Bolt, aka Marvel's Silent Bob, dropping Terrigen gas on the earth. This is the stuff that awakens people who have the ability to become Inhuman. Except unlike the TV series, in the comic it usually doesn't go and turn normal people into stone. So basically, anyone who can become Inhuman goes through the process of becoming Inhuman. Good news: more Inhumans. Bad news: not all Inhumans know what they're doing and have control of their powers. Worse news: Some new Inhumans are real dicks. So while Medusa, Queen of Attilan, goes hunting for the new Inhumans to join her society, the character Lash, an Inhuman with the ability to absorb all types of energy and use it, decides not all the Inhumans deserve to be given this great gift and hunts down the weak Inhumans and kills them.
So what does this have to do with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season three? Well, Marvel has announced that Lash will be the main villain, or at least a very prominent villain, in the next season, with the same goal as his comic counterpart: to hunt and destroy weak Inhumans who are not worthy of their gift, while S.H.I.E.L.D. starts the team known as Secret Warriors — the secret team of superhumans trying to save others who are gifted. Is this series slowly turning into X-Men? Kind of. Am I OK with this? YES! I can't wait to hear more news about the next season. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has slowly been getting me more and more excited. More news will be announced as we go along!
