Learn A New Language On The Go With INFLUENT Coming To Android April 21

Influent is a language learning game made by Three Flip Studios. In it you play as inventor Andrew Cross as you try to prove that his language translation technology was stolen. You’ll get to explore his apartment and fly a tiny toy plane as you learn the vocabulary of everything around you. Mini games will test your knowledge and earning stars will unlock adverbs and verbs. All in all it sounds like a pretty fun language learning game. There is also a community Discord you can join whether you play on iOS, Steam, or the upcoming Android version to share progress and high scores in the mini games so that can be a useful support system for those really dedicated to learning a second language.

The new version for Android has some improvements from the original Steam version. These include a revamped German translation and mobile-only Welsh, Polish, and Dutch language packs, an overhauled tutorial, and improved progress tracking. The game will be available April 21 on the Google Play Store and will include French, Korean, and Italian for free with English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Swedish, Latin, European Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, and Welsh language packs being available for $3.99 each. Personally I wish that Spanish had been included rather than French, but that could just be the American in me seeing more utility in learning Spanish than French. But if you’re sick of that judgy Duolingo owl reminding you that you’ll never learn a language if you never practice it, maybe try this game out to help you finally get going on actually learning that language you’ve always wanted to learn.
