Learn About Diplomacy and Plots in ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 14
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV is set to be released in the west next month and Koei Tecmo recently showed off more of the diplomacy features and plot gameplay that fans can look forward to. As you’ll be commanding an army of one nation, it’s important to gain allies. You can gain those allies with gifts including gold, supplies, or specialty goods to increase your goodwill. As goodwill improves, so do your relations leading to alliances. Forming an alliance means the ally cannot attack you or conquer your territory. They can, however, maintain supply lines through your territory. If your bond becomes strong enough, you can request that your ally attack an enemy. If the alliance is no longer of any value to you, you can always annul it.
Plots are another mechanic that use ally units to weaken your enemy. There are five types: Hidden Poison, Estrange, Placation, Unattended Home and Dual Destruction, and each one is useful for different strategies. Here’s their breakdown:
Hidden Poison lowers the development and public order of the targeted Force, and can cause bandits from foreign tribes to appear.
Estrange lowers the loyalty of the target officer through bad rumors about their ruler.
Placation targets the people of free areas, or areas under the control of other forces, in order to gain control of the area core.
Unattended Home incites a viceroy or governor into leaving their current Force and going it along.
Dual Destruction spreads damaging rumors about one Force within the territory of another.
RTK14 can be pre-ordered from your favorite outlet now for PC and PS4 and will be launched on February 28.
