Learn About Joe Manganiello's DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Group and Details of How to Possibly Play a Game with Him at D&D HQ

In Hollywood, there’s a now famous group that plays Dungeons & Dragons. Led by the Dungeon Master Joe Manganiello, Nick Manganiello, John Cassel, Kyle Newman, Ryan Verniere, Ron Matthews, Tom Morello, Vince Vaughn, George Finn, D.B. Weiss, and Paul “The Big Show” Wight go on harrowing adventures with the current campaign titled “The War of Dragons” for roughly two years now. In addition, James Gunn and Taran Killam are among others who apparently drop in to play as guests.

These games are held in Manganiello’s basement, dubbed “The Gary Gygax Memorial Dungeon,” which is decked out in ornamentation appropriate for the game and according to Morello is full of anything that might be needed:

You would not believe Joe’s dungeon. There’s nothing that could occur in the game that someone could come up with in the spur of the moment that isn’t in some box. Like, the druid turned themselves into a weasel, and Joe says, ‘What color weasel?’ And then the red-striped weasel [miniature] comes out. It’s pretty amazing.

Of course, during this time of social distancing, Mangianello’s group (like many others) have switched over to playing through online platforms like Roll20 and Zoom.

Variety recently was able to talk to the group about their experiences and shared a video and some images that highlight how awesome this game group is. However, there’s also a possibility that you could go and play a game of Dungeons & Dragons with Manganiello. The sad part is that the game will not be in his dungeon, but the good news is that it would be a the D&D headquarters in Seattle, Washington. Manganiello is allowing fans the opportunity to support Make-A-Wish through Omaze in an effort to win the chance for them and a friend to be flown to Seattle to check out D&D HQ and play a game that is sure to be unforgettable. The pair of fans will even be able to meet with the designers for the game and talk to them about some of the things being worked on. This is an incredible opportunity and the promo ad is fantastic work.
